Brief return from hiatus: due to various circumstances, I've finally decided to abandon my old (and my first) email address. I was one of the first people in Treviso to get a private email address, with the Treviso OnLine Internet provider, again one of the first to offer dial-up access in my region. It was 1995, and I remember fighting with a 14.4 kbps modem, initialization strings, no support...

And it was so 1995 not to receive spam, to expose your unique and only email address in all newsgroup postings, to download archives of the comp.sys.mac.programmer newsgroup and to curse at TurboGopher crashing... My email alias was also very 1995, I had just read William Gibson's Neuromancer and of course I had case as my login name.

Eight years, and everything is so different. But I guess that everybody has the right to one or two Coupland moments, once in a while.
