Great post by Tom Gardner on The ServerSide about the potential dangers of AOP technologies. As always, the problem is with the people, not with the technology: morons will be morons regardless of the weapons they use, but since there are so many of them, all the "good" people must restrain themselves.

Fortunately, I'm currently surrounded by intelligent people, capable of understanding my elaboration, criticizing them on their merit, and proposing improvements. There are no morons at my current workplace, and if I have my say there won't be ever. That said, I don't think I'll be on the bleeding edge of the AOP front: I'll wait until AOP has hit the mainstream, then I'll decide to adopt it or to reject it. However the AOP bytecode modifications are making me very nervous already...
